MAD MAX 2: THE ROAD WARRIOR MAD MAX 2: THE ROAD WARRIOR 30x40 OR search current auctions Auction History Result #074 MAD MAX 2 30x40 '82 Date Sold 1/15/2002Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded 30x40 (Learn More) Mad Max 2 (released in the U.S. in 1982 as "The Road Warrior"), the 1981 George Miller Australian post-apocalyptic action thriller sequel ("Just one man can make a difference."; "In the future, cities will become deserts, roads will become battlefields and the hope of mankind will appear as a stranger."; "When all that's left is one last chance, pray that he's still out there ...somewhere!"; "Mad Max meets the challenge!"; "Written by Terry Hayes, George Miller with Brian Hannant"; "Music conducted and composed by Brian May"; in the first Mad Max, it is supposedly set in the mid 1980s, right after an apocalyptic war; this movie is supposedly set just a few years after that, and yet the entire world has massively broken down; even more confusing, in a later entry in the series, it is said that the apocalyptic war took place between the first and second film, not before the first; however, if you're looking for realism and a coherent timeline, you're probably not a big fan of this series!) starring Mel Gibson (in the title role as Mad Max Rockatansky), Bruce Spence (as The Gyro Captain), Michael Preston (as Pappagallo), Max Phipps (as The Toadie), Vernon Wells (as Wez), Kjell Nilsson (as The Humungus), Emil Minty (as The Feral Kid), and Virginia Hey. Note that this movie was first released in Australia as a sequel to Mad Max, and was titled Mad Max 2. The movie was a giant hit and distributors wanted to release it in the U.S., but since the first movie had only had a very limited release in the U.S., they re-titled it so as to not confuse audiences (but they printed a limited number of international "Mad Max 2" one-sheets in the U.S., which are far more rare than the "The Road Warrior" U.S. one-sheets). Important Added Info: This poster was never folded after it was printed (this is called unfolded or "rolled")! Condition: fine. NOTE: This 30x40, plus several others that eMoviePoster is selling this week came from a most extraordinary collection. They were purchased by a collector when these films were issued and have been carefully stored under ideal conditions ever since! The result is that these posters are as near to perfect as any 30x40s we have ever sold (or just about any movie posters for that matter!)! If you purchase any of these, you will see that they truly look as though they might have just been printed (although each may have a few minute defects, which you would have to pore over the poster to find). Just finding these titles in a 30x40 size might take years, as they are far more rare than the corresponding one-sheet. To find them in this condition might take one the rest of their life! In the past few months we have sold other 30x40s (and 40x60s, one-sheets, inserts, and lobby card sets) for this collector, and they have sold for far more than they usually do in lesser condition, as collectors have correctly realized that this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!
