An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 14" x 22" [36 x 56 cm]) (Learn More)

The Terror, the 1928 Roy Del Ruth London England horror mystery haunted house thriller ("From the play by Edgar Wallace"; the then very popular plot of having a group of very difficult people brought together at a spooky house, and there is a mysterious person called "The Terror", who is terrorizing them; one of the very first "talking" pictures; it had a synchronized talking soundtrack on Vitaphone discs, which were like records, and had to be played on a disc player, and the hope was that the movie and discs would stay exactly synchronized throughout the entire movie, but that did not work very well!) starring May McAvoy, Louise Fazenda, Edward Everett Horton, Alec B. Francis, Mathew Betz, Holmes Herbert, and John Miljan. Note that even the credits were read aloud (by Conrad Nagel, who was himself not credited).

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that first release 1928 movie paper from this Edgar Wallace movie is incredibly rare. We have only auctioned a one-sheet and a title card from this movie (and those were 14 and 17 years ago!) until we received this window card! Note that this poster has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the poster was backed onto a paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (except somewhat heavier). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards, and lobby cards.

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. Prior to paperbacking, the poster had pinholes, small tears, creases, and some small paper loss around the edges, with some creases, scuffs, and small stains scattered in the image. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to paperbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see slight signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
