An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) The Man from Dakota, the 1940 Leslie Fenton historical Civil War military romantic melodrama (based on the novel 'Arouse and Beware' by MacKinlay Kantor; about two Union soldiers who escape from a Confederate prison and are helped by a pretty Russian refugee to return home with valuable secrets) starring Wallace Beery, John Howard, Dolores Del Rio (as a Russian refugee, who oddly has a Mexican accent!), Donald Meek, and Robert Barrat. Apparently the movie was originally going to be titled after the source novel "Arouse and Beware", but they switched to "The Man from Dakota" at the last minute, although it was released under the other title in England. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: very good. Learn More about condition grades
