An Original Vintage Theatrical Advertising Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) Irene Castle was a ballroom dancer and actress from the 1910s to the 1920s. She was married to fellow dancer Vernon, and their story was later portrayed by Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers! Some of her movies include: Patria (in the title role), The Firing Line, and French Heels. Sadly, Castle outlived three of her four husbands. She passed away in 1969 at the age of 75. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). This slide is the kind that has two panes of glass that are taped together with black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of many older glass slides. We have provided a high quality scan of the image, but we have not taken a photo of the slide, because there would really be very little to see! Condition: very good.
