An Original 1950 (from the first release of this movie in Japan; see below) Vintage Theatrical Tri-Folded Japanese "B2" Movie Poster (measures 20 1/4" x 28 5/8" [51 x 73 cm]) (Learn More) The Forest Rangers, the 1942 George Marshall romantic love triangle forest fire firefighting arson crime action thriller ("Blazing adventure! Dazzling spectacle! Fiery romance!"; "In Flaming Technicolor"; "From a story by Thelma Strabel") starring Fred MacMurray, Paulette Goddard, Susan Hayward, Lynne Overman, Albert Dekker, and Eugene Pallette NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that the IMDb says this movie was not released in Japan until December 1953, but we believe that to be incorrect, because of the "MPEA" logo printed on the poster (see below). We have never seen a poster with the MPEA logo that was from after 1950, so we strongly suspect that the IMDb is wrong in this case (and probably the poster is from 1950). Also note that, immediately after World War II, the U.S. occupied Japan and part of Germany, and many American movies were shown in both countries between 1945 and the end of the occupation. Most of the Japanese posters we have seen from that period and many of the German posters and programs from the same period have a "Motion Picture Export Association" circular printed logo on the poster or program, and apparently this was a program run in conjunction with the U.S. government. Since there were many U.S. servicemen in Japan and Germany at this time, many of these posters and programs have the title written in both Japanese (or German) and in English, and they are from the first release of that movie in that country. Also note that this poster was tri-folded only (which means there is no vertical machine fold) but because it would be more expensive to send flat, it will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: very good. The poster has a tiny pinhole in each corner and a 1" tear in the lower right border that has a piece of tape on the back of it. There are some faint creases scattered throughout the poster, and it was once tri-folded. There are some dot stains scattered on the back of the center of the poster, but fortunately, there is only one that shows through to the front (in Hayward's hair). Learn More about condition grades
