a lot of 1 Edgar Allan Poe stamp sheet from 1949 (totaling 50 unused stamps!). Edgar Allan Poe was a writer, editor and literary critic from the 1820s to the 1840s. He is best known for his macabre short stories and poems. Some of his works include: Annabel Lee, The Tell-Tale Heart, and The Murders in the Rue Morgue. Poe passed away in 1849 at the age of 40. The cause of his death is unknown, but theories range from poisoning to rabies.
