An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Italian Two-Panel (known in Italy as a "4 Fogli") Movie Poster (2p; measures 55" x 78" [140 x 198 cm]) (Learn More)

Nuovo Cinema Paradiso (released in the U.S. in 1990 as "Cinema Paradiso"), the classic 1988 Giuseppe Tornatore French/Italian movie-making family relationship comedy ("An enchanted village. A wonderful friendship. Star-crossed lovers. And the magic of the movies."; about a fatherless Italian boy who grows up loving movies and the kindly projectionist who runs the theater in his small Italian village; probably the best movie ever made for those who love movies!) starring Philippe Noiret (as Alfredo), Jacques Perrin (as Toto, as an adult), Antonella Attili (billed as "Antonella Attiu"), Pupella Maggio, Salvatore Cascio ("as 'Toto'", as a child), Enzo Cannavale, Isa Danieli, Leo Gullota, Marco Leonardi (as Toto, as a teenager), Leopoldo Trieste. Note that when this classic movie first opened in Italy in November 1988, it was 155 minutes long. When it went into wide release (including some other countries) in May of 1989, it was shortened to 124 minutes. In the missing 31 minutes were all the scenes involving Brigitte Fossey (who played the adult Elena), so some Italian posters had a piece of black tape placed over her credit! Therefore, we believe that the Italian one and two-panel posters that have Miss Fossey's credit are from that very first release, while the ones without her credit are likely from the wide release a few months later. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
Artist: Sandro Cecchini
Important Added Info: Note that, as mentioned in the Description above, when this classic movie first opened in Italy in November 1988, it was 155 minutes long. When it went into wide release in May of 1989, it was shortened to 124 minutes. The poster offered here is from the 1989 continuous release. Also note that this is a "country of origin" poster for this partially Italian movie! Also note that this Italian two-panel was printed in 2 sections designed to overlap. Finally, note that the theater that used this poster glued the pieces together before putting them on display (this is typical of many actual theater-used posters in multiple pieces).

UPDATED 11/21/2021: Note that we have updated the Important Added Info section. Also, we have updated the Condition Description (the Condition Grade remains the same).

Condition: good. The theater that used this poster glued the pieces together before putting them on display (this is typical of many actual theater-used posters in multiple pieces). There are pieces of clear tape in the borders and there is a large Oscar snipe taped to middle left of the poster.
