Note that RKO was worried about how the public would respond to this unusual movie, and they advertised it as apparently a love triangle with Colbert torn between handsome George Brent and Orson Welles, and they used a young image of Orson Welles on their posters which did not at all reflect how he appeared in the majority of the movie!
