An Original Vintage Theatrical Special Jumbo Window Card Movie Poster (measures 21" x 22") (Learn More) The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, the 1968 Robert Ellis Miller coming-of-age-in-the-South melodrama ("Carson McCullers' searching and sensitive story that has become an 'enduring masterpiece'"; "...and from this man who could not speak or hear, the girl heard many things."; "The sun woke Mick up early. She was different in body... in mind... than she was yesterday. And there was no one to talk to except Mr. Singer, who couldn't speak or hear, only 'listen' with his heart."; "She thought he was a creep - a deaf-mute dummy who could only watch life go by. And yet in his own way, he helped them all - especially the young girl trapped in the terrible dilemma of innocence lost."; "This was the summer Mick Kelly was scared-she trespassed into an adult world so maybe the tears would quiet down-"; "From the novel by Carson McCullers") starring (in alphabetical order) Alan Arkin (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), Laurinda Barrett, Stacy Keach (billed as "Stacy Keach Jr."; in his first movie role!), Chuck McCann, Biff McGuire, Percy Rodriguez, Cicely Tyson, and Sondra Locke (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film; billed as "introducing Sondra Locke") NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is one of five "individual theater" advance special window cards we are offering on eBay this week as separate items. They were used in New York City at the specific theaters that premiered the movie. Four of the five posters have theater information printed on the poster. These posters would have been printed in large numbers and distributed around New York City prior to the movie's opening, but it is likely that few have survived (I have never seen one of these unusual special window cards before!). Note that each of the cards measures 21" x 22", and each has die-cut diagonal corners in the bottom left and right (this is how the posters were made, and is NOT a defect). Condition: fine. There are a few faint thumbnail creases in the image area, but overall, the poster is in quite nice condition! This item is in REALLY nice condition (what many dealers would describe as "fine" or "near mint")! It has only the very most minor of defects! We only put this "fine" grade on approximately 1 in 4 of the items we are selling. We saved it for the very best ones, ones that we thought would be acceptable to EVERY collector, no matter how condition conscious they are! Learn More about condition grades
