An Undated (probably 1930s) Re-Release Theatrical Folded French One-Panel "Grande" Movie Poster (1p; measures 47" x 63" [119 x 160 cm]) (Learn More) The Unholy Three, the 1925 Tod Browning silent sideshow crime thriller ("The Ventriloquist - The Dwarf - and The Giant"; "From the story by C.A. Robbins"; "Scenario by Waldemar Young"; "Presented by Louis B. Mayer"; about a trio of carnival sideshow performers who leave show business and start a major crime wave!) starring Lon Chaney Sr., Mae Busch, Matt Moore, Victor McLaglen, Harry Earles, and Alice Julian (a circus "fat lady" who performed at Ringling Brothers circus, and who apparently only made this one movie, and she was uncredited). Note that Lon Chaney re-made this movie as a "talkie" in 1930, but with a different director and cast (although Harry Earles reprised his role as the dwarf, as there was likely a shortage of top dwarf actors suitable to the role). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we first auctioned this wonderful French one-panel in 2017, and the person who purchased it reconsigned it to us, and the second buyer has also reconsigned it to us, so it is still the only French poster from this movie we have ever auctioned! Note that this is an extremely rare French poster from before World War II! Very few French posters survive from the mid 1940s or earlier. Apparently there were many paper shortages in France during World War II, resulting in the destruction of almost all posters from before World War II, and also from during the war, and the first few years afterwards! Also note that the poster has an artist's signature on it, but we cannot read it. If anyone knows the name of this artist, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Condition: fair to good. The poster is quite fragile, but certainly it can be linenbacked and restored (and since the poster is mostly "all there", it will not require much paint restoration at all). However, bear in mind the poster's condition and the cost of restoration before bidding on this rare poster.t Learn More about condition grades
