Artist: Tom Jung Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned six examples of this poster in all our years of auctioning, and only one in the last seven years! Also note that this poster is stamped "FOREIGN" on the back. Starting in the very late 1960s, studios started printing two versions of three-sheets and six-sheets, one stamped "DOMESTIC" on the back, and that poster had the ratings printed on it, and the other one was stamped "FOREIGN" on the back, and that one did not have ratings (and sometimes had a different images from the domestic poster). But at some time in the early to mid 1960s, studios stopped making ones that were stamped "DOMESTIC" (likely because U.S. theaters hardly ever used them), but they continued to stamp the ones they did make "FOREIGN" on the back (surely this was a money saving idea, because they only had to print one poster that could be used everywhere). The only known Star Wars three-sheets and six-sheets have "FOREIGN" stamped on the back, and it is believed by all experts that there was no other three-sheet or six-sheet printed. This poster has "FOREIGN" stamped on the back, as do all known Star Wars six-sheets. Note that this six-sheet was printed in 2 sections designed to overlap. The two sections of the poster were folded in such a way that they measure approximately 10" x 26" when fully folded. Therefore, the poster will need to be sent in a large flat package that measures approximately 13" x 28". Please bear this in mind before bidding on this poster. Note that this special "all Star Wars" auction began with a phone call from a VERY long time collector of Star Wars posters! He told us that he had reached a point in his life where he was wanting to sell his collection, and he asked if we could do it all at one time. Because he had 174 posters (including many of the most rare and desirable ones), we were happy to comply, but we told him that we would like to also add additional rare Star Wars posters from other collectors, and he agreed, and after we were consigned an additional 117 posters and related items, we have our auction! This item is one of the additional 117 items that we were consigned from other collectors. They REALLY came through with wonderful additional items that really add to the overall auction! If you are interested in knowing more about the person who assembled the amazing collection of 174 posters in this auction, CLICK HERE to read a written history of how he came to assemble this amazing collection! Condition: very good to fine. As noted above, the poster was folded in such a way that it measures 10" x 26" . Someone once lightly started to fold it over an extra time, but then thought better of it, and there is the slightest of creasing in that area. The poster has a 1/2" tear near the very top of the left blank border. Otherwise, it has the most minor of fold and border wear. Learn More about condition grades
