Permalube Motor Oil, the circa 1950s advertising poster created by Amoco to advertise its Permalube motor oil ("Cleans as it lubricates"; "An American Oil Company Product"; "There's protection for you!"). Note that Amoco (originally part of Standard Oil, which later absorbed the American Oil Company) participated strongly in the war effort during World War II, producing better airplane fuel, and even producing TNT for the government! After World War II, they returned to producing gasoline for cars. If anyone knows more about this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Condition: fair. There are VERY LARGE tears extending into the artwork fro the area of paper loss at lower right that have been repaired with tape from the back. Please see our super-sized image to get a good sense of the condition of this item prior to placing a bid and please do not bid unless you can accept the defects described above, or you are willing to pay to have them properly restored.
