An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More)

That Girl From Paris, the 1936 Leigh Jason France romantic musical comedy ("Five new big songs by the man who wrote half the hits of the musical stage... Arthur Schwartz.. Watch these numbers climb up in the Hit Parade: 'Seal It With A Kiss' - 'Call To Arms' - 'Love And Learn' - 'My Nephew From Nice' - 'Moonface'"; about a pretty Parisienne singer who meets an American band leader, and she becomes so smitten by him that she follows him back to the U.S. and manages to convince him to hire her as the band's singer) starring Lily Pons, Jack Oakie, Gene Raymond, Lucille Ball, Mischa Auer, and Frank Jenks. Note that sixth-billed Lucille Ball had only had very minor parts to this point. The following year, she would have her breakout role in "Stage Door", which would lead to starring roles in lesser movies and supporting roles in major movies! Also note that Lily Pons was a real life opera star who was drafted into movies after the great success of Jeanette MacDonald, and for her first one, she was given "I Dream Too Much" in 1935, with music by Jerome Kern, who had composed the music for the hit movie "Roberta" the year before. But she only appeared in three more movies between 1935 and 1937, and then returned to opera singing.

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.

Condition: very good. There is a piece of tape on the front and back of the left and right of the top edge of the poster. The poster is otherwise in pretty nice condition, especially considering its age!
