An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" (8x10) Movie Still (Learn More) Jean Arthur was famous during the 1920s to the 1950s as a smart, cute, sassy, and sexy screen personality. She was a major star of the 1930s, but she was far from an "overnight success"! She was born in 1900, and appeared in 46 silent movies, mostly in minor roles. Once sound movies began, she quickly gained stardom, no doubt partially due to her distinctive voice, and she became a major star in her middle thirties! Her final movie (a great choice for a swan song) was Shane. Some of her movies include: Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, You Can't Take It with You, Mr. Deeds Goes to Town, Seven Chances, The More The Merrier (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Only Angels Have Wings, The Talk of the Town, The Whole Town's Talking, and many more! She passed away in 1991 at the age of 90. Important Added Info: There is a stamp on the back of the still that reads, "PHOTOGRAPH BY OTTO DYAR". There was a paper snipe glued to the bottom of the back of the still, but much of it is missing. Note that there is a distribution date stamped on the back of the still ("DEC 28 1928"). Condition: good. The surface emulsion of the still has been stained and there are areas in the left, right, and center of the still that have turned a tan or brown color. Fortunately, they are not all that distracting, and none of them are in the upper half of Jean Arthur's body or her face. Learn More about condition grades
