Van Dyke romantic blackmail crime murder melodrama (" I can commit murder and not be caught!"; a very convoluted story of a wealthy lawyer who believes that murder can be justified, and by an amazing coincidence, his daughter tells him that she is planning to marry a worthless older rich man, and the father then kills the supposed fiancee, but actually she was telling him she planned to marry that man as a cover story because she was wanting to marry someone her father did not approve of, and so he killed the man for no reason, but he apparently then is able to get away with the crime!) starring Lionel Barrymore, Kay Francis, Madge Evans, William Bakewell, C. Important Added Info: Note that first release 1931 movie posters from this early Kay Francis movie are incredibly rare. We have never sold even a single poster from this movie until we received this one-sheet, and we only have previously had a single lobby card! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had darkened, and it had small tears and small areas of paper loss scattered throughout, including some in Barrymore's face and in the face of the woman at the bottom, with lesser amounts scattered throughout. Overall, the poster was in fair to good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was really expertly backed by a top restorer, and from any reasonable viewing distance, it displays well. One would prefer to find a better condition example of this poster, but I don't know that one exists anywhere, and another might not surface for decades to come! Learn More about condition grades
