This man is The Exorcist."; "Screenplay by William Peter Blatty based on his novel"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award) starring Ellen Burstyn (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film; as Chris MacNeil), Max Von Sydow (as Father Merrin), Lee J. Cobb (as Lt. Kinderman), Kitty Winn, Jack MacGowran, Jason Miller (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film; "as Father Karras"), Linda Blair (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film; "as Regan"), Mercedes McCambridge (as the voice of the demon Pazuzu), and William O'Malley (a real-life priest who was the technical advisor on the movie, but who also appears in scenes as a priest with Jason Miller) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that these French stills measure 12" x 15 1/2". Also note that these stills are printed on Kodak paper, but we believe them to surely be original stills. Sometimes, studios would run out of stills and have extras printed on different stock. UPDATED 08/29/2011: A very knowledgeable French collector pointed out that that these are known as "photos prestiges" in France and were much more rare that normal French LCs! The punch holes in each card were done by the printer and are not a defect. He states: "These are what the distributors here called "photos prestiges". These stills were printed on photographic paper to be used in theatre lobbies for the movies very first releases, in addition to the traditional front of house/lobby sets. They are far rarer than normal LCs. Warner did these in the mid '70s and they were generally 30x40 centimeters. I have sets like these on such movies as THE EXORCIST, ULTIMATE WARRIOR, SATANIC RITES OF DRACULA, GOLDEN VOYAGE OF SINBAD, BLACULA, IT'S ALIVE, etc... The number of stills varied from one movie to another. I got them at the time of their release at Warner's office in Paris, so you can be sure they are 100 % original. The punch holes were done at the lab to avoid the theatre owners having to damage the photos by using staples; they only had to put pins in the holes and then return the photos to Warner's offices.
