An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded International Three-Sheet Movie Poster (3sh; measures 41" x 81" [104 x 206 cm]) (Learn More)

Riot, the 1969 Buzz Kulik jail prison escape crime thriller ("Cully- Fletcher- Kelly- Mary- Surefoot- Grossman-"; "They exploded the ugliest riot in prison history to cover their dangerous, desperate break for freedom."; "Based upon "The Riot" by Frank Elli"; produced by William Castle) starring Jim Brown, Gene Hackman, Mike Kellin, Gerald S. O'Loughlin, Ben Carruthers, Clifford David, and "featuring inmates of Arizona State Prison". Note that there is a real mystery about this movie. We have auctioned stills from it that have captions on the back indicating that they were taken by photographer Lawrence Schiller, and several of them show "inmate/actor" Frenchie Wooten, who is a 24 year old who was "serving a 15 year sentence for killing a homosexual within the walls of the prison", and it also states that "Frenchie has been granted the second largest role in the movie". Yet, Frenchie Wooten is not billed as being in the movie, and there is nothing about him on the Internet. The only thing we can imagine is that the movie was being filmed with Wooten, but that when news of this came out, people (likely friends and relatives of the murdered man) objected to his being in the movie, and apparently his lines were completely removed from the movie, although it seems he is still in the prison scenes. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Important Added Info: Note that this poster was stamped "FOR" which means it was printed for use outside the United States (there would also have been posters stamped "DOM" for use within the United States). Often, the "FOR" posters would have a different (sometimes racier) image than that for the one used in the United States. Also note that this three-sheet was printed in 2 sections designed to overlap.

Condition: fair to good. There are some smudges, stains, and rippling scattered in the poster. There are many creases, several tears, and some areas of tiny paper loss along the foldlines that were on the outside when the poster was fully folded. There are some creases, smudges, and tiny tears on some foldlines, and some tiny paper loss at some crossfolds. There are pinholes and tiny paper loss around the edges.
