An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Style C One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Back Street, the 1941 Robert Stevenson romantic melodrama (based on the novel by Fannie Hurst; about a woman who intends to marry a man, but circumstances prevent that from happening, and they separate for many years, and reunite when the man is married, but the woman has a "back street" affair with him) starring Charles Boyer, Margaret Sullavan, Richard Carlson, Frank McHugh, Tim Holt, Samuel S. Hinds, Esther Dale, and Nell O'Day. Note that this movie was a remake of the 1932 movie of the same name with Irene Dunne and John Boles, and was itself remade in 1961 by producer Ross Hunter, with Susan Hayward and John Gavin. The poster had small paper loss at the crossfolds and creases, tears, and tiny areas of paper loss on parts of all the foldlines, except for most of the top horizontal fold. It had pinholes in the corners. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but at some point after it was backed, it was exposed to moisture or water, which has resulted in the poster rippling in the upper right, at the right end of the top foldline. I don't know if this can be corrected without re-backing the poster, but the poster displays pretty well in spite of the rippling in that area. Learn More about condition grades
