An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) Dangerous Paradise, the 1930 William A. Wellman topical island romantic melodrama (based on the novel 'Victory' by Joseph Conrad; about a young girl living on a tropical island with lots of lecherous old men whom she is afraid of; she goes to a neighboring island where a woman-hating hermit lives by himself, and she begs him to let her stay there where she will be safe) starring Nancy Carroll, Richard Arlen, Warner Oland, Francis McDonald, and George Kotsonaros. Note that the plot of this movie was filmed several times. Had this movie been made a few years earlier, Clara Bow would surely have played the lead, and there would have been sexual tension between her and the various men in the movie. But with young innocent Nancy Carroll, she comes off as a threatened female, and it is an entirely different movie that it would have been with Bow. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: very good. Learn More about condition grades
