Dumanoir"; about a Gypsy dancer who falls in love with a poor nobleman; he is arrested while defending a boy and she pleads for his pardon with the king, but the king falls in love with her and attempts to have the nobleman killed, but the jealous queen intercedes and the nobleman is freed and he marries the dancer!) starring Pola Negri (in the title role as Maritana), Antonio Moreno, Wallace Beery, Kathlyn Williams, Gareth Hughes, and Adolphe Menjou. Note that this novel was originally intended to star Rudolph Valentino in the lead role, but he turned it down, and so the story was heavily re-written to make Pola Negri's character the star of the movie! Important Added Info: Note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: good. The entire card has darkened somewhat. It has tack holes, smudges, and small stains around the edges. There are a few tiny stains scattered in the image. This is the sort of card that responds really well to professional restoration. It is likely that much or all of the smudges and stains can be removed through chemical means, and of course, most of the pinholes are in the blank borders, and after proper restoration, the card will display well. Please look closely at our images of the front and back of this card before bidding. Note that this card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back!
