Note that the sheath dress that Rita Hayworth wears in the movie (designed by Jean Louis) certainly contributed greatly to the popularity of this movie! We have only auctioned it once in all our years of auctioning. It does not get the notoriety of the style B one-sheet, which sells for fortunes, but it does have Rita Hayworth in a sheath dress, a great tagline, and an image of her being slapped by Glenn Ford, and it will be a "conversation piece" on the new owner's wall! Note that this poster has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the poster was backed onto a paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (except somewhat heavier). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards, and lobby cards. What IS paperbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. Prior to paperbacking, most of the poster's blank top had been trimmed off. The poster had pinholes and tears around the edges, with some smudges and stains scattered throughout. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to paperbacking. The poster was nicely backed, but the restorer painted over all of the background areas, to "even them out", and this is somewhat noticeable, so bear this in mind and the restoration this card has had before placing a bid on it.
