Date Sold 10/3/2021 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. a lot of 70 1971 RE-RELEASE 8x10 stills from The Ghost of Frankenstein, the 1942 Erle C. Kenton Universal monster horror thriller ("NEW THRILLS as the monster stalks again!"; "Original Story, Eric Taylor"; the fourth Universal Frankenstein movie after the three 1930s classics; in this entry, Bela Lugosi as Ygor resurrects the Frankenstein monster and takes him to the doctor's son and they must find a new brain!) starring Cedric Hardwicke (billed as "Sir Cedric Hardwicke"; as Dr. Ludwig Frankenstein), Ralph Bellamy, Lionel Atwill (as Doctor Bohmer), Bela Lugosi (as Ygor), Evelyn Ankers (as Elsa Frankenstein), Lon Chaney Jr. (as the Frankenstein monster), Holmes Herbert, and Janet Ann Gallow. In 1971, Universal Studios held a "1971 Universal Film Festival", and at that time, they printed these photos from the original negatives for that festival. After the festival, the remaining examples of these stills were sold to Jerry Ohlinger, a noted movie memorabilia dealer, and many years later, he started selling them, and he has since passed away, and we are auctioning several groups of these (in separate auctions, by title). These stills were created by the studio for this 1971 film festival, so we are calling them "R71". They are of very high quality, with very sharp printing (see our images).
