An Autographed 3" x 5" [8 x 13 cm] Index Card (Learn More) Walter Lantz was a legendary American cartoonist, animator and director from the 1910s to 1982. He worked for many top studios in the earliest days of animation, including the Bray studio, and he did Oswald the Rabbit for Columbia, but he is best known for creating the cartoon character Woody Woodpecker (and Lantz's wife Grace supplied Woody Woodpecker's distinctive voice!). He passed away in 1994 at the age of 94. Important Added Info: This index card has been personally autographed (signed) by Walter Lantz (he also drew a picture of Woody Woodpecker)! The index card could be matted with a vintage or repro still and framed together to make a cool display! Our consignor is a longtime collector and dealer. In the 1970s and 1980s, he wrote to stars and asked for autographed photos and index cards, and he also sometimes purchased signed items from other dealers. He does not have a certificate of authenticity for this item, but we believe the signature to likely be authentic. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction.
