An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Swedish Movie Poster (measures approximately 27" x 39") (Learn More) a circa late 1940s Swedish stock poster which theaters used to inform patrons that a Humphrey Bogart movie was playing. It features a large photo of Humphrey Bogart, with surrounding art by Aberg! Note that there is a large blank rectangular area at the bottom of the poster. Theaters could either write in the name of the current movie, or sometimes they would overprint the poster with the name of a specific movie that they were showing. I have seen stock posters similar to this for major western and comedy stars, but this is the first I have seen for a dramatic actor (but then, Humphrey Bogart truly was in a class by himself!). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Aberg Important Added Info: This Swedish poster measures approximately 27" x 39". Condition: good to very good. The poster was never folded. It had creases and some small tears in the borders. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was well backed, but at some point after the poster was linenbacked, it was roughly handled, and there are now heavy creases in the top of the left border, both in the poster and in the linen itself. This would diminish greatly if the poster were put under weight, and it would not show at all if the poster was framed. Learn More about condition grades
