An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (measures 11" x 14") (Learn More) The Big Broadcast of 1938, the 1938 Mitchell Leisen romantic all-star musical comedy ("Based on an adaptation by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse of a story by Frederic Hazlitt Brenan") starring W.C. Fields, Martha Raye, Dorothy Lamour, Shirley Ross, Ben Blue, Bob Hope, Lynne Overman, Leif Erickson, Grace Bradley, Tito Guizar, and "Specialties by Kirsten Flagstad, Shep Fields and His Orchestra". Note that this movie included a dance number performed entirely by African American men and women, dancing in period costumes from 1910! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: very good. There is a circular small water stain in the upper left image background. There is a faint smudge in Fields' cheek. There are some faint smudges in the background areas and on the girl's arm and dress at lower right. There are tiny creases in the blank corners. Someone lightly wrote the word "MASTER" in the top right corner in pencil. There is a pinhole in the center of the top and bottom blank borders and one in the upper left blank border. There was a piece of paper tape on the back of the center of the top border, and someone partially removed it. Otherwise, the card has had no restoration or tape of any kind. None of the defects this card has are all that distracting, and I would think many collectors could happily display it just as it is, but certainly, any talented restorer could easily touch up this card (with or without paperbacking), and it would display great!
