An Original Vintage Movie Script (measures 8 3/4" x 11 1/2" [22 x 29 cm], 122 pages) (Learn More) The Stooge, the 1952 Norman Taurog slapstick vaudeville comedy melodrama ("From a story by Fred F. Finklehoffe and Sid Silvers"; about a very successful vaudeville comedian who has a singing and dancing act, but a major part of his success was due to his "stooge", his assistant in the act who never shared in the limelight) starring Dean Martin, Jerry Lewis (in the title role as Theodore 'Ted' Rogers, the Stooge), Marion Marshall, Eddie Mayehoff, Polly Bergen, and Frances Bavier. Note that Jerry Lewis stated that this was his most favorite of the movies he made with Dean Martin. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this script, which is the final revised script from February 15, 1951 (the screenplay was written by Fred Finklehoffe Jr.), was the personal copy of Joseph H. Hazen (who was a partner with Hal Wallis in "Hal Walls-Joseph Hazen Productions"). It has a dark green tooled leather hardcover binding that has the name of the movie on the spine and Mr. Hazen's name printed in gold in the bottom right of the front cover. The script has many gold and blue revision pages from several dates between 2/16/51 and 3/19/51. It has a perforated interior page after the title page with the number "255" stamped on it, but the receipt (which is an actual perforation) has not been removed or separated. Note that Mr. Hazen was a Warner Bros. lawyer for 17 years and he wrote the contract when they signed to make "The Jazz Singer" in 1927. In 1944, he and Hal Wallis resigned from Warner Bros. and formed a partnership producing independent big budget films with Mr. Hazen stationed in New York, and Mr. Wallis in Hollywood and London. Some of their movies included Love Letters, Sorry Wrong Number, and Come Back Little Sheba. They also brought Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis into movies. In 1953, Mr. Hazen and Mr. Wallis dissolved the company, but they continued making movies one picture at a time, and their final production was "Anne of the Thousand Days" in 1968. Mr. Hazen passed away in 1994 at the age of 96! Condition: very good. There is light staining on the front cover of the hardcover binding and tiny paper loss at the spine of the binding. There are some scuff marks on the cover of the binding. There are some brown stains on the blank interior green pages. The script itself is in wonderful condition! Learn More about condition grades
