An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Italian Two-Panel (known in Italy as a "4 Fogli") Movie Poster (2p; measures 55" x 78" [140 x 198 cm]) (Learn More) Terra di Fuoco (literally translates to "Land of Fire"), the 1939 Giorgio Ferroni & Marcel L'Herbier French/Italian romantic melodrama starring Tito Schipa, Mireille Balin, Marie Glory, Andre Lefaur, Luisa Carletti, and Jean Servais. Unfortunately, we were unable to locate any kind of plot summary of this movie! Note that there were Italian and French versions of this movie made at the same time (the French version is titled "Terre de feu"). The cast was a combination of French and Italian actors (and there was a French and Italian director), and they only filmed one version, and dubbed the French actors in the Italian version and the Italian actors in the French version, thus creating two films for hardly more than the price of one! It appears this movie was never released in the U.S. If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Artist: Luigi Martinati Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned any movie paper items from this movie until we received this poster, which is a "country of origin" poster for this partially Italian movie! This is an extremely rare Italian poster from during World War II! Virtually no Italian posters survive from before, during, or right after World War II (mostly only some heavy stock lobby cards, and even those are rare). Apparently there were many paper shortages in Italy during World War II, resulting in the destruction of almost all posters from before World War II, and also from during the war, and the first few years afterwards! Also note that this Italian two-panel was printed in 2 sections designed to overlap. Condition: very good. The poster has pretty minor fold and border wear. It has a few tiny faint brown stains scattered throughout but is otherwise in pretty nice condition, considering its age and size! Learn More about condition grades
