Some of his movies include: Lady for a Day (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film), It's a Wonderful Life, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, It Happened One Night (winner of the Best Director Academy Award for this film), Arsenic and Old Lace, Mr. Deeds Goes To Town (winner of the Best Director Academy Award for this film), Lost Horizon, You Can't Take It with You, and Meet John Doe. He passed away in 1991 at the age of 94. Important Added Info: Note that this item (which is a personal letter from Mr. Capra to David Mallery) has been personally autographed (signed) by Frank Capra! He thanks Mr. Mallery (who was a close personal friend) for his recent letter about his changed travels plans in going to Philadelphia for a film festival and a get together with Mr. Mallery. Note that this letter comes from the estate of David Mallery. He was a professor of cinematography at Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia, from the 1960s into the 1990s. He was a founding member of the AFI (American Film Institute), and a member of the Motion Picture Academy. He was a film critic who wrote many reviews for many publications, and hosted a TV show where he interviewed directors, actors, and others involved in the film industry. Condition: very good to fine.
