An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Blithe Spirit (released in the U.S. as "Noel Coward's Blithe Spirit"), the classic 1945 David Lean English supernatural ghost horror romantic love triangle fantasy comedy ("Noel Coward's Super-Naturally Spicy Screen Entertainment"; "Noel Coward's Spicy Screen Comedy"; "Elvira is the kind of gal who can turn an evening into a night you'll never forget!"; "Keep your eyes on Elvira... As she creates the most mischievous matrimonial situation in the history of love..."; "In blushing Technicolor"; a clever story of an author who goes with his wife to a seance to do research, but the medium conjures up the spirit of his first wife, and the ghost proceeds to spend all her time with her former husband, much to the annoyance of his current wife!) starring Rex Harrison, Constance Cummings, Kay Hammond (as Elvira Condomine), Margaret Rutherford, and Hugh Wakefield NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the restorer did a good job, but you can see signs of the restoration from inches away (since most people look at posters framed on a wall from at least a few feet away, we don't feel this is a defect, but we feel it should be noted). OR you can't see the restoration because it was so well done, but the poster had fairly significant defects. OR no restoration was performed, but the defects are not major, and restoration could be done to the poster without re-backing it. See below for its pre-restoration defects (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). Poster had creases and some tears on some foldlines, and tiny paper loss at the crossfolds. It had some very minor smudges and creases, as well as some minor border defects, including pinholes in the corners. The poster is well linenbacked, and the restored defects are not very noticeable.
