It developed into one of the most important German shipping companies of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and was instrumental in the economic development of Bremen and Bremerhaven. In 1970, the company merged with Hamburg America Line (HAPAG) to form Hapag-Lloyd AG. Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had many pinholes, tears, and tiny paper loss around the edges, with one long tear in the lower right that extended to the middle of the image above the camel. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
