Le Gardien Du Feu (released in English-speaking countries as "Keeper of the Light"), the 1924 Gaston Ravel French silent romantic love triangle marriage infidelity melodrama (about a lighthouse keeper who discovers that his wife is unfaithful and he locks the wife and her lover in the lighthouse) starring Rene Navarre, Marie-Louise Iribe, Michel Floresco, Alice Tissot, and Luc Dartagnan
Artist: Mikhail Dlugach
Important Added Info: Note that the poster features great art and graphic design by Mikhail O. Dlugach, who was a Ukrainian graphic designer and poster artist from the 1920s to the 1980s. In all our years of auctioning, we have only previously auctioned two other posters with his art, and those were both from 1944, while this one is from 1927, his peak time for creating posters! Here is more about this artist: After art school, he moved to Moscow and started working as a film poster designer, soon becoming one of the leading artists in the field. During World War II (WWII), he also created propaganda posters. In the postwar period, he continued working as a poster designer, making political posters, as well as circus advertisements, badges and medals. He passed away in 1988 at the age of 95.

What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had pretty minor fold wear. It had a stain in the top right corner that extended into the red background. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well!
