Universal Studios (also referred to as Universal Pictures or simply Universal) is an American film studio which was founded in 1912 by Carl Laemmle, Mark Dintenfass, Charles O. Baumann, Adam Kessel, Pat Powers, William Swanson, David Horsley, Robert H. Cochrane, and Jules Brulatour. It is the oldest surviving film studio in the United States, and the world's fourth oldest after Gaumont, Pathe and Nordisk Film. It is located in Universal City, California, and is one of Hollywood's "Big Six" studios. Universal also owns several film-related theme parks and resorts, including: Universal Studios Hollywood, Universal Orlando Resort, Universal Studios Japan and more!

Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this really cool felt pennant. We think it is extremely likely that it dates from around 1915 which is when "Universal City" first opened to the public (Carl Laemmle had the idea of making it part of his studio a tourist attraction decades before Walt Disney had a similar idea. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
