The Dark Horse, the 1946 Will Jason political election romantic melodrama (about a World War II veteran who is convinced to run for a local political office, and he falls in love with a woman who works for the political machine, but he learns that his backers are just using him, and he renounces them and wins anyway; it is clear this movie borrows a great deal from "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington"!) starring Phillip Terry, Ann Savage, Jane Darwell, Allen Jenkins, Donald MacBride, and Edward Gargan
