A 1957 Re-Release Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) La Donna del Fiume (released in the U.S. in 1956 as "Woman of the River"), the 1954 Mario Soldati Italian/French crime melodrama ("Sophia Loren is all woman in Woman of the River") starring Sophia Loren ("The anAtomic Bomb from Italy"), Gerard Oury, Lise Bourdin, Rik Battaglia, Giorgio Bassani, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Florestano Vancini, Antonio Altoviti, and Mario Soldati. Note that this is one of the many early movies that Sophia Loren appeared in in the early 1950s. After it was released in 1954, she did not gain widespread international notice until the following year, and it was not until 1956 that this was released in the U.S., as "Woman of the River". After she became a superstar in 1957 with "Boy on a Dolphin", the movie was released again in the U.S. So there are both 1956 and 1957 U.S. posters from this movie, and it had an entirely different ad campaign each time! The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and very minor fold and border wear. Overall, the poster was in very good to fine condition prior to linenbacking.
