An Original Vintage Linenbacked Italian Road Map Poster (measures 28" x 39") (Learn More) Italia Carta Automobilistica, the circa 1960s Italian agricultural road map depicting both an atlas of Italy and the agricultural products and native garb of individual regions. If anyone knows more about this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The map had printing on the other side (there was different printing on the other side, and perhaps it was originally a folded up map with mostly text information on the other side), and it likely bleeds through in the light background areas, but it is not very distracting. There was darkening along parts of the foldlines and tiny paper loss at some crossfolds. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer linenbacked the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above, but they are really not very distracting (and any restorer could easily touch them up without re-backing the poster).
