Date Sold 8/1/2023 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 2 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Wife Savers, the 1928 Ralph Cedar silent romantic marriage screwball comedy ("Based on Florentz Zeigfeld's 'Louie XIV' by Arthur Wimperis, from the German of Paul Frank and Julius Wilhelm") starring Wallace Beery, Raymond Hatton, Zasu Pitts, Sally Blane, and Tom Kennedy. Note that in 1926, Wallace Beery and Raymond Hatton appeared in "Behind the Front", and the public loved the comic antics of this very large man with this very small man, and they went on to make a series of similar movies, including this one. They were so popular that there was also an imitation series of similar movies starring Karl Dane and George K. Arthur. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper items from this movie are incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned one title card, a jumbo lobby card, a French pressbook, a German program, a glass slide, and some stills from this movie (and NO other movie paper of any kind) until we received these two scene cards! Condition: very good. Both have some faint smudges around the edges.
