A Needless Loss, the 1943 U.S. World War II (WWII) Home Front poster encouraging citizens to be careful with sensitive information, and featuring Anton Otto Fischer artwork of a dead U.S. sailor washed up on a beach. This poster might seem "heavy handed" to today's world, but America during World War II was very conscious of not accidentally giving information to the enemy.

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had very minor fold and border wear. It had unevenness in the black background, which appears to be a printing defect. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above.
