An Original Vintage Unfolded German Stage Play Poster (measures 23 1/4" x 33 1/4" [59 x 84 cm]) (Learn More)

Preddykat Marchenhaft (literally translates to "Preddykat Fairy Tales"), the 1980s German poster promoting a stage play production (by the Preddy Show Company) which was held in Berlin, Germany. Note that this poster is a feminist-inspired take on the Brothers Grimm fairytale, The Frog Prince/King. In the tale, a spoiled princess reluctantly befriends the Frog Prince (meeting him after dropping a gold ball into a pond), who magically transforms into a handsome prince. Although in modern versions the transformation is invariably triggered by the princess kissing the frog, in the original Grimm version of the story the frog's spell was broken when the princess threw it against a wall in disgust, and in other early versions it was sufficient for the frog to spend the night on the princess' pillow.
