If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is an EXTREMELY rare poster! King Kong was reissued many times, but several of the reissues had two-color artwork. All of the items from the 1942 re-release had brand new artwork, and ANY material from the 1942 re-release is difficult to find (perhaps it was because of World War II and paper drives, or perhaps because the movie was quickly re-released several more times, which likely caused the 1942 re-release paper to be used up or destroyed). We have only auctioned this poster twice before, and the last time was 11 years ago! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had small paper loss at the top two crossfolds. It had small tears and tiny bits of paper loss on parts of several folds, and there had been tape on the back of several of those areas. There were pinholes, tears, stains, and small paper loss around the edges, and some of those areas had tape on the back. There was small paper loss in both K's of the title, with some smudges scattered in the title letters. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. If you are the sort of person who does not mind that you can tell that a poster is 75 years old and was used in a theater, then you will likely be happy to display this poster! If you want your posters to look "perfect", then you would surely want to have this poster re-backed (which certainly could be done). Please look closely at our super-sized image and read what is written above before bidding on this poster. Learn More about condition grades
