Date Sold 11/8/2018Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Spanish Movie Herald (measures 3 1/4" x 5" [8 x 13 cm]) (Learn More) The Clutching Hand, the 1936 Albert Herman serial science fiction (sci-fi) masked super villain crime mystery thriller serial ("A Craig Kennedy Thriller in fifteen chapters from the novel by Arthur B. Reeve") starring Jack Mulhall, William Farnum, Ruth Mix (daughter of Tom Mix, who appeared in around a dozen movies, starting as a teenager), Marion Shilling, Yakima Canutt, Rex Lease, and Mae Busch. Note that the IMDb says that the official title of this movie is "The Amazing Exploits of the Clutching Hand", but we have never seen any movie paper with that title (but it apparently does exist on some film prints). Also, like many other serials of the time, a feature version was created by editing the chapters of the serial into a 74 minute movie which had the same name as the serial and was also released in 1936. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this Spanish herald (we HAVE previously auctioned the heralds for the first two parts, but never before this herald for the third part)! Note that apparently this feature movie was split into three different parts when it played in Spain in 1943 (perhaps they showed them at Saturday matinees there), or the serial version was combined into a total of three parts, because this herald references the first "jornada" (likely the first five chapters), the second "jornada" (likely the second five chapters), and the third "jornada" (likely the last five chapters). We have seen one herald for "1a Jornada", "2a Jornada", and another for "3a Jornada". If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that when Spanish heralds have printing on the back, we picture both sides, but when they are blank on the back, we only picture the front. Note that this is one of a remarkable collection of 44 Spanish heralds we were consigned from a man who collected them over many DECADES! He was able to track down some extremely rare titles, including some we have never auctioned before, and many of these heralds in excellent condition. This is a rare opportunity to add the rarest Spanish heralds to your collection! Condition: very good. Learn More about condition grades
