Cristiani Bros. Circus was founded in 1949 in the U.S. but the Cristiani family circus history goes back to the 19th century in Italy. Since 1840, the family has starred with countless major circuses around the globe. In 1934, circus magnet John Ringling North convinced the family to suspend their circus operations in Italy and agree to come to America to perform their world acclaimed bareback riding act for Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus at Madison Square Gardens in New York City. In 1949, the family of 26 formed Cristiani Brothers Circus to great acclaim and success. By 1958, the show grew from a small family circus to the second largest in North America.

Important Added Info: Note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube.

Condition: good. There are some creases and tears of varying lengths around the edges of the poster (up to approximately 2 1/2", some of which are repaired with tape from the back). There is a union ink pad stamp at upper right and there is a snipe glued across the bottom of the poster that adds approximately 8" to the overall height (the poster itself without the snipe measures 20 1/2" x 28 1/4"). The snipe glued to the bottom has much paper loss at right. Please see our super-sized image to get a good sense of the condition of this item prior to placing a bid.
