He was the screenwriter and/or producer on several of the best remembered romantic comedies of the 1950s, including; That Touch of Mink, Pillow Talk (winner of the Best Screenplay Academy Award for this film), Lover Come Back, and many others. He passed away in 1990 at the age of 65. Important Added Info: Note that this item has been personally autographed (signed) by Stanley Shapiro (it has great content, because he discusses scenes in Pillow talk and That Touch of Mink, where lines he wrote ended up being cut, and he can't remember why he would have cut them!). Our consignor was a freelance journalist in the 1970s and 1980s, and he wrote a long letter to Mr. Shapiro replied with this 1-page letter, which he signed his name on, and which he has now consigned to us. Our consignor preserved photocopies of three of his original letters to Mr. Shapiro, and we have not reproduced them, but we will send them to the winner of this auction together with the signed letter. Condition: very good. There is nothing on this page other than comments by Mr. Shapiro on several movies, so we don't know if it originally had a page before it, but his thoughts on this page are complete (see our image).
