You Buy a Liberty Bond Lest I Perish, the 1917 U.S. World War I (WWI) War Bonds poster ("Get behind the government. Liberty Loan of 1917")encouraging citizens to buy war bonds, and featuring wonderful Charles Raymond Macauley art of the Statue of Liberty sternly pointing at the viewer. Some might say that it is "over the top", but people really felt that their "liberty" was on the line during World War I!

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had a clean irregular 13" tear in the top border, going down through the spikes of the crown and ending in the background above the bottom spike. There is a clean 12" tear in the right border that extends down into the torch, with a slightly diagonal crease going through the top of the "Y" of "YOU in the left border. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well!
