A Linenbacked German Travel Poster (measures 25" x 39 1/2" [64 x 100 cm]) (Learn More) Deutscher Winter (literally translates to "German Winter"), the 1930s German train railroad railway travel poster encouraging people to visit Germany during the winter, and featuring Heiligenstaedt art of a man and a woman traveling through the snow in a sled. Note that this poster was created by the Reichsbahnzentrale fur den Deutschen Reiseverkehr (RDV). The RDV was a company founded by the Deutsche Reichsbahn (also known as the German National Railway) to promote German tourism (both domestic and foreign) by train. Artist: Heiligenstaedt Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this German travel poster, and it sold for $320. That poster has now been reconsigned to us, so this is still the only example we have ever auctioned! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster was never folded. It had small tears and areas of paper loss scattered down the right blank border, with a much lesser amount of wear in the other borders.
