REVENGE OF THE CREATURE REVENGE OF THE CREATURE WC, regular OR search current auctions Auction History Result 7m185 REVENGE OF THE CREATURE signed 3D WC 1955 by BOTH Ricou Browning AND Brett Halsey, great art! Date Sold 6/18/2017Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Autographed Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 14" x 22" [36 x 56 cm]) (Learn More) Revenge of the Creature, the 1955 Jack Arnold Universal monster Florida horror science fiction (sci-fi) 3-D (3D; 3-Dimension) sequel ("Terror is loose in the city!"; "Weird Monster escapes! Terror seizes city!"; "All New Thrills! Shock! Suspense!"; "Monster Escapes!"; "City flees in Terror!"; "Here at last! New thrill wonder 3-D Horrorscope!") starring John Agar, Lori Nelson, John Bromfield, Nester Paiva, Ricou Browning (who played the Gill Man underwater), Tom Hennesy (who played the Gill Man on land), Clint Eastwood (in his big screen [speaking] debut in a bit part as a lab assistant), Brett Halsey, and Flippy the Porpoise. Note that this movie was released in 3-D, but most first release U.S. posters don't bother to mention that (perhaps because the 3-D craze was dying down). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Reynold Brown Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been personally autographed (signed) by BOTH Ricou Browning AND Brett Halsey! Our consignor does not have a certificate of authenticity, but he is a very long term collector, and he and we feel confident the signatures are authentic. Note that this poster has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the poster was backed onto a paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (except somewhat heavier). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards, and lobby cards. Note that, as noted above, this movie was originally filmed in 3-D, but because the 3-D craze had ended by the time the movie was ready to be released, it was not released in 3-D in 1955. However, window cards had been prepared with a 3-D tagline ("Here at last! NEW thrill wonder 3-D Horrorscope!") in the lower left. But none of the other posters for the movie, which were printed closer to its release, have a 3-D tagline on them (there were only "2-D" posters made in all other sizes). The extremely rare window card we are offering here is the one WITH the 3-D tagline (there was also a window card without that tagline, and we have auctioned that window card a few times). So if you want a "3-D" poster from this movie, then THIS is the poster you need to get! What IS paperbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. Prior to paperbacking, the window card was folded across the original middle and folded 3" from the bottom and 4" from the top of the card, with creases on those folds. There were a few pinholes, creases, and a few small tears around the edges. Overall, the window card was in good to very good condition prior to paperbacking. The window card was nicely backed, and displays well! Learn More about condition grades
