An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Lone Hand Saunders, the 1926 B. Reeves Eason silent medical-doctor-turned-cowboy cowboy western (produced by Joseph P. Kennedy; about a mysterious cowboy who only uses his left hand and keeps his right hand in his pocket, and people assume he has a crippled hand and they call him "Lone Hand Saunders"; two outlaws get the idea to frame him for stagecoach robberies by having one of them only use his left hand, so people will assume the outlaw is Lone Hand Saunders; meanwhile, the hero rescues a crippled boy from an orphanage that burned down, and he tells the boy that the reason he never uses his right hand is because he was a great surgeon and his sister died before he could operate on her, so now he has vowed to never use his right hand!; but then the townspeople think he is the stagecoach robber, and he has to evade them long enough to operate on the boy, and then he reveals to everyone that his hand is fine, and he finds the real robbers and makes them confess!) starring Fred Thomson (in the title role as Fred 'Lone Hand' Saunders), Silver (billed "Famous horse Silver King" and "Miracle horse Silver King"), Billy Butts, Bess Flowers, Frank Hagney, Albert Prisco, William Dyer, and William Courtright. Note that producer Joseph P. Kennedy was of course the father of Joe, John, Bobby, and Teddy Kennedy, and had a well publicized love affair with Gloria Swanson for many years! Also note that star Fred Thomson was a major silent cowboy star (along with Tom Mix), but he is forgotten today, because he tragically died of tetanus just when sound movies started. Surely there should be a film biography of his life (perhaps Johnny Depp could play the lead role!). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: very good to fine. Note that this card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back! Learn More about condition grades
