Escape from the Planet of the Apes"; "Based on characters created by Pierre Boulle") starring Roddy McDowall, Kim Hunter, Bradford Dillman, Natalie Trundy, Eric Braeden, William Windom (as The President), Sal Mineo, and Ricardo Montalban ("as Armando") AND Conquest of the Planet of the Apes, the 1972 J. Lee Thompson science fiction fantasy intelligent-ape-men thriller sequel ("ALL NEW!"; "The Revolt of the Apes! The Most Awesome Spectacle In The Annals Of Science Fiction!"; "The newest and biggest yet!"; "Based on characters created by Pierre Boulle") starring Roddy McDowall, Don Murray, Ricardo Montalban ( "as Armando"), Hari Rhodes, and Natalie Trundy AND Battle For the Planet of the Apes, the 1973 J. Lee Thompson science fiction thriller (an installment in the series of "Planet of the Apes" movies; "THE FINAL CHAPTER in the incredible Apes saga. The most suspenseful showdown ever filmed as two civilizations battle for the right to inherit what's left of the earth!"; "Based upon characters created by Pierre Boulle") starring Roddy McDowall, Claude Akins, Natalie Trundy, Severn Darden, Lew Ayres, Paul Williams and John Huston. Note that in 1974, 20th Century Fox had the idea of having movie theaters show the five "Planet of the Apes" movies in a single program, and produced special movie posters, with an image of an ape from the movies pointing at you, with the tagline "GO APE!". The bottom of this poster had five boxes with the titles of the five movies. Not surprisingly, this idea did not go over well with movie theaters, because they would be selling a single ticket, and having kids sit in their theater all day long! Most of the surviving examples of the theatrical "Go Ape!" poster are found with several of the bottom boxes taped over, because the theater only showed two of the movies. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good to fine. the tiniest areas of surface paper loss across the middle of the top foldline and to a much lesser extent along the other foldlines (this is very typical of this poster and all other similar high gloss posters of this era). It is almost impossible to find this poster without this defect to some extent (and this poster has less of this defect than most examples of this poster). There are some creases to the left and right of the vertical foldline (caused when the poster was machine folded) and some minor creases throughout the poster; The above is truly nitpicking! The poster is in really nice unrestored condition, and its defects are extremely minor. While most collectors would certainly be happy with it just as it is, the minor defects would completely vanish if it were linenbacked and the poster would look perfect!
