An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Thirty by Forty Movie Poster (30x40; measures 30" x 40" [76 x 102 cm]) (Learn More) Les Quatre Cents Coups (released in the U.S. as "Francois Truffaut's The Four Hundred Blows"), the classic 1959 Francois Truffaut French New Wave semi-autobiographical troubled teen family relationship coming-of-age melodrama ("Angel Faces hell-bent for violence"; based on Truffaut's troubled childhood in France; Leaud played him as a young boy in this movie and went on to portray him in four other Truffaut movies!) starring Jean-Pierre Leaud, Claire Maurier, Albert Remy, Guy Decomble, Georges Flamant, and Patrick Auffay (as Rene) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have only auctioned one example of this poster before and that sold for $225! This poster was consigned to us from the estate of a man who worked at arthouse theaters in New York CIty in the 1950s and 1960s, and he took home some rare posters, including this one and since movies like these were only shown at a very limited number of arthouse theaters, they are FAR more rare than posters of U.S. mainstream movies of the same period! Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good. The poster was folded somewhat oddly, resulting in several irregular folds. There are or were pieces of tape on back of the edges that slightly bleeds through to the front. There are some pinholes, creases and tiny tears along portions of some edges and there is some small blank paper loss at bottom. It is otherwise "mostly all there" and after proper restoration the poster will display well, but bear in mind the poster's condition and the cost of restoration before bidding on it.
