An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41") (Learn More)

Red Noses, the 1932 James W. Horne two-reel slapstick comedy short (produced by Hal Roach; about two women visiting a Turkish bath to try to cure their head colds) starring Zasu Pitts, Thelma Todd, Blanche Payson (a huge stocky female who appeared in many Hal Roach comedies, as well as those of the Three Stooges), Billy Gilbert, and Wilfred Lucas. Note that this is one of 17 sexy comedies that Thelma Todd and Zasu Pitts made together between 1931 and 1933. They weren't great movies, but they were really popular at the box office! In 1933, Zasu Pitts was replaced by Patsy Kelly, and Todd and Kelly made an additional 22 similar sexy comedies! Thelma Todd's unfortunate "suicide" (perhaps a mob hit) in 1935 ended this popular series of shorts.

Condition: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds. There was a 3" tear with tiny paper loss just next to the vertical foldline, starting 3" below the top crossfold. There was slight darkening on some of the foldlines and some smudges in the white background areas. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was well backed, but you can see slight signs of the above minor defects and the restoration of the above defects (but they are really not distracting at all, and if one wished, it would be very easy for any talented restorer to perform additional restoration to those areas without re-backing the poster).
