An Original Vintage Theatrical Tri-Folded Three-Sheet Movie Poster (3sh; measures 42" x 84" [107 x 213 cm]) (Learn More) Return of the Jedi (now known as "Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi"), the classic 1983 Richard Marquand outer space science fiction (sci-fi) action adventure epic sequel ("Return to a galaxy far, far away!"; "The Saga Continues"; "The movie everyone's been waiting for!"; written and produced by George Lucas) starring Mark Hamill (as Luke Skywalker), Harrison Ford (as Han Solo), Carrie Fisher (as Princess Leia), Billy Dee Williams (as Lando Calrissian), Anthony Daniels ("as C-3PO"), David Prowse (as the man in the Darth Vader suit), Kenny Baker (as R2-D2), Peter Mayhew (as Chewbacca), Frank Oz (as the voice of Yoda), James Earl Jones (as the voice of Darth Vader), and Alec Guinness (as Obi-Wan Kenobi) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Kazuhiko Sano Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned three examples of this three-sheet, and the last one was only in "fair" condition, and it sold for $875 (the one before that was in "very good" condition and it sold for $4,200!)! Note that this three-sheet measures 42" x 84" [107 x 213 cm]. Also note that this three-sheet was printed in 2 sections designed to overlap. Finally, note this three-sheet poster was tri-folded only (which means there is one less vertical machine fold than usual). This means the poster has a significantly lesser number of folds than with three-sheets folded in the "regular" way, which is nice! Tri-folded three-sheets need to be sent in an oversized flat package, which measures roughly 13" x 30", so they cost more to send than regularly folded three-sheets, especially if they are sent to non-U.S. addresses. Condition: fair to good. The poster was attached to a wall with pieces of tape on the back of all the borders. The tape left stains on the back and some show through somewhat to the front, but not very much, because of how dark the poster is. However, when the poster was removed from the wall, it caused tears and paper loss in parts of the borders, as seen in our image. It also caused a long tear running through the middle of the credits and up to just below the "E" of "THE" in the title. Someone put tape on the back of that tear, and fortunately, there was no paper loss in that area, and it is not very noticeable. There is also tape on the back of the crossfolds. Obviously, this rare and desirable poster can be restored. It is mostly "all there" (see our image), and a talented restorer can surely make it display wonderfully after proper linenbacking, but bear all of the above in mind and look closely at our super-sized image before bidding.
